Stonemasons in Chester & Wirral, Heritage Stone, decided they needed an online presence to showcase the wide variety of memorial products they provide, here are three design alternatives for you to view.
Following a few telephone conversations with Matthew Brereton and meeting with Scot Murray I set about creating three concepts that you can see above to find a tasteful solution for showcasing their memorial stone works to potential clients around Chester and across the Wirral.
Matthew wanted to see a clean and minimal page layout with less fuss and an emphasis on easy navigation. I used artwork and images supplied for the three website design options and it was suggested that I use the Heritage Stone colour and font styles. I needed to use variations of the navy blue and grey colours to fit the correct mood of the design so had to stray slightly from this to achieve the best results.
Prospective clients viewing the website would most likely prefer softer and warmer tones, less clutter and pages that are easy to navigate, hopefully I have managed to cover these requirements with all three. The first option is soft and airy with light tones of grey used carefully in key areas. The second layout uses a combination of a navy blue stone effect with darker grey base to lift the products boxes off the page. The third is a smoother more minimal layout featuring mainly deeper grey tones for the background.
Which one do you prefer? Please leave your comments in the box below, your feedback is appreciated!
I personally prefer #1 the best although I can see some nice features in #2 & #3 they look a bit dark with the grey and navy blue!
